A New Year's Commitment!

I'm not big on New Year's Resolutions b/c it seems that every year I make one I seem to lose my motivation about the time February rolls around. It's more like a one month resolution! Ha! This year I want to make a New Year's Commitment! A renewed commitment to live my life as Jesus commanded and to reach out to people with His love! I love to do outreach, but for some reason since I have moved to Seattle I have not had the drive I used to have to tell people about Jesus! I want to make an impact in this world for Christ! I want to see soul's saved, hearts mended, sicknesses healed, and peace restored to everyone in this city that God has strategically put me in! 2008 is going to be an unforgettable year!! My mission is outlined in a well known scripture found in Isaiah 61.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor

and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,

and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor

Isaiah 61:1-3

I have been convicted of my approach to the hurting around me. I have several neighbors who I know need God's peace in their lives, and here I have the answer, and I'm not telling them. I vowed that this year would be different, and that I would wait for opportunity, but that with the help of the Holy Spirit, I'd create opportunity to share.
